A Letter of thanks to the people of W.A.M (Westside Anglican Mission).
Well here we are. This is it….my last Sunday with you. In the days, weeks and months prior to this day, I have been reflecting on my time with you all. To say that you have impacted my life is a enormous understatement. To say that together we have faced more than our share of “character building” experiences is yet another understatement.
I have marveled and noted your patience and perseverance through difficult challenges. The loss of cherished buildings, the amalgamations, the frequent moves have only strengthened you to hold fast.
Your faithfulness to God and to His calling of you to love others and share His life with them kept you focused on the main thing.
Your flexibility and willingness to try new things created safe space for others.
As you lived in, and reflected the love of Jesus, you allowed God to quiet you and refocus you through the good times and the hard times. It is obvious that you now reflect that love to others.
I am so proud to have been a part of you. I am so moved that you showed your love to me and to my family as we continued through the challenges. Rather than resent you drew close to us -choosing to pull together, as a healthy family would!
I am so moved and humbled by this experience. You have been and are a great encouragement to me and to my family. You have welcomed and supported Jennifer and Stephen.
I am very thankful to you all for your sincere friendliness which fostered a healthy and godly space for others to come, join and grow.
I urge you to continue to be open to the Holy Spirit’s teaching and nudging in your life as you continue to follow Jesus each day.
So, dear friends, on my last Sunday with you, I say thank you. You will ALWAYS have a very special place in Jennifer’s and my heart. Be assured of my continued prayers for you.
I close with the words that God gave to Moses after he asked God how he should bless the people…
24 “The Lord bless you
and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”
In His Love, Rob+
