Clean Hands Doesn’t Cleanse The Heart

Jesus had numerous run inns with the Pharisees. The Pharisees were deeply religious which may at first sound good. The Bible however discusses religion in two lights; a religion that is true is mentioned in James (1:27) and a lot of religious activity that has become meaningless and void of true connection with God. Religion in the second form is vain repetition and can even lead to the persecution of others and is a source of religious pride. Jesus confronts the Pharisees and rebukes their false religion and points to the heart of humankind as that which desperately needs conversion. May God help you to live out a pure religion that at the heart of it is connection with Him.
